Smart Camera Security Response in Southend & Essex
Your camera alerts you. Armour attends.
Annual: £299 a year
Save £60.88 compared with 12 monthly payments.
Monthly: £29.99 a month
Intro A smart camera tells you something is happening. It cannot check your property for you. Armour Security provides smart camera security response in Southend-on-Sea and South Essex: when an alert worries you, request attendance and an SIA-licensed Armour officer will carry out an exterior inspection of your property. Armour has served the local area from Leigh Marina since 2007.
This is an on-request service. Your camera alerts reach you, not Armour. We do not monitor your cameras and we have no integration with any camera app. You do the home CCTV monitoring; Armour attends. You stay in control of when we attend.
An Alternative to a Home CCTV Monitoring Service
A traditional CCTV monitoring service has someone else watching your footage. This service works differently. You already receive alerts on your phone, so Armour offers an alternative to a home CCTV monitoring service: you review the alert, and if you want someone to check, you request a visit. For CCTV alert response in Essex, there is no camera link to set up and no footage shared with us unless you choose to send it.
If you have an intruder alarm and want an officer to attend activations, see our separate Alarm Response service.
How to Request Attendance
- Your camera alerts you. You receive a notification on your phone from your camera app.
- Check the app. Open the clip or live view to see what triggered the alert.
- Request attendance. Call our response line on 01702 416276 or use our online form. If you see a crime in progress or anyone at risk, call 999 first.
- Share what you saw. Send us a saved clip or screenshot, or describe the alert: the time, the camera location and what it showed.
- An officer attends. An SIA-licensed Armour officer travels to your property and inspects the exterior.
- You receive a report. The officer sends you a report with photos from the visit.
What the Officer Does
- Patrols the outside of the property, including accessible boundaries, doors, windows and outbuildings
- Takes photos during the inspection
- Sends a report to you after the visit
- Calls the police if needed
The officer does not enter the property and Armour holds no keys for this service. It is an exterior inspection only.
For Arlo Owners
Arlo cameras send motion alerts through the Arlo Secure app. Open the recording from your Library (or Feed, depending on your app version) to check what triggered it. Once you have requested attendance, open the recording, tap the three-dot menu and choose Download (iPhone) or Save to Photos (Android) to keep a copy on your phone, or choose Share to send it to us by email or message. Arlo notes that locally stored videos cannot be shared from the app, so for those, describe the alert or send a screenshot instead.
For Eufy Owners
The eufy Security app collects alerts and recorded clips from all your eufy devices in its Events tab. Tap an event to watch the clip. To send it to Armour after requesting attendance, use the Download button to save the clip to your phone's album, or the Share button to send it directly. If a download fails, eufy recommends checking your phone's network connection; a screenshot or a description of the alert works just as well.
For Reolink Owners
Reolink cameras send alerts through the Reolink app, where you can open the camera's Playback page to review recordings stored on its microSD card or NVR. To share a recording with Armour, select it and tap the Download icon, adjust the time range if needed, then download it. On iPhone the file saves to your photo album; on Android it saves to the location shown under the app's Storage Path setting. If you use Reolink Cloud, you can download recordings from the app's Library page.
For Blink Owners
Blink cameras send motion alerts through the Blink app. Tap Clips in the bottom navigation bar and choose the clip from the Clip List to play it. Clips are saved when you have a Blink subscription plan or local storage with a compatible Sync Module. To share a clip with Armour, tap the playing clip, tap Share and send it by email or a messaging app. You can also save it to your Camera Roll (iPhone) or Videos folder (Android). Blink notes that clips saved from cloud storage show timestamps in UTC, so please tell us the local time of the alert.
Google Nest Owners
Using Nest cameras or doorbells with the Google Home app? See our dedicated page: Security Response for Google Nest Owners.
Keep Your Accounts Private
Armour never needs your camera app login or account access. Sharing a clip, a screenshot or a clear description of the alert gives the officer everything needed.

Need Internal Checks? Upgrade to Keyholding or Alarm Response
This service is limited to the outside of your property by design. If you want an officer to be able to go inside, for example to check rooms or secure a door after an alarm activation, take a look at our Keyholding service, where Armour holds your keys under agreement, and our Alarm Response service. Armour Security Deployment Ltd is an SIA Approved Contractor for Guarding and Keyholding. For local details, see Keyholding in Southend-on-Sea.
For a visible presence without waiting for an alert, we also offer Mobile Security Patrols and a Virtual Security Guard service.
Independence
Armour Security is independent and not affiliated with Google, Arlo, Eufy, Reolink or Blink. Brand names are used only to describe the cameras our customers own.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do my camera alerts go to Armour automatically?
No. Armour does not monitor your camera and there is no integration with any camera app. When your camera alerts you, you decide whether to request attendance by calling 01702 416276 or using our online form.
Is this a CCTV monitoring service?
No. You do the home CCTV monitoring through your own camera app, and Armour attends when you ask. It is an on-request alternative to a home CCTV monitoring service: nobody at Armour watches your footage.
Will the officer enter my property?
No. This service is an exterior inspection only. Armour holds no keys for it and the officer does not enter the property. If you need internal checks, our Keyholding and Alarm Response services cover that.
Which smart cameras does the service work with?
The service works with any smart camera that alerts you, including cameras used by Arlo, Eufy, Reolink, Blink and Google Nest owners, because you request attendance yourself. Armour does not install, supply or monitor cameras.
How do I share footage with the officer?
After you request attendance, save or download the clip or take a screenshot in your camera app and send it to us, or simply describe what the alert showed. Please do not share your app login or give Armour access to your camera account.
What counts as a response?
A response is each attendance you request at your registered property. Your plan includes 10 security responses a year. Every attendance counts towards these responses, including visits that turn out to be a genuine false alarm. Each response includes exterior checks and a photographic report. Unused responses do not roll over, and once all 10 are used, additional responses are charged at £45 per response. Pay annually for £299, or monthly at £29.99. Monthly customers can cancel anytime with one month's notice. Paying annually saves £60.88 compared with 12 monthly payments.
Which areas do you cover?
We provide smart camera security response in Southend-on-Sea and across South Essex, including Leigh-on-Sea, Westcliff-on-Sea, Rayleigh, Basildon and Thurrock.
