If you look after an empty building, our vacant property inspections now do a little more for the same standard inspection rate. On a qualifying plan, you get a full photographic report after every visit, plus one included alert option: intruder video verification, or a flood alert for an agreed indoor or outdoor location.
What stays the same
Inspections are still physical visits against an agreed checklist. An officer looks at doors, windows and locks, visible damage, leaks and damp, and signs of unauthorised access. After each visit you receive a photographic report with findings and follow-up actions, available through your secure client portal.
If you are unsure how often a building should be visited, our guide to vacant property inspection visits is a good place to start.
What is new
You choose one of these, included in the package:
- Intruder video verification. A battery-powered device covers one agreed area. When it activates, it sends images or footage so an operator can verify the alert, day and night.
- Flood alert. A sensor at an agreed indoor or outdoor location raises an alert when it detects water. It tells you water is there; it does not stop it.
If you want both, that is a small additional charge, confirmed in your quotation.
The video verification device runs on battery and mobile data, so it does not need mains power or your own broadband. We check signal and positioning before installation. Loan of the device, installation, SIM and data, monitoring and removal at the end are all included. The device stays Armour's property.
What it is not
It helps to be clear about the limits:
- Monitoring is alert-based. Nobody is watching the camera continuously, and one device covers one agreed area, not the whole building.
- After a verified intruder alert, we contact you or your nominated contact first.
- Officer attendance is optional and charged separately. It follows the instructions you agree in advance and is subject to local coverage.
- Our reports give you a documented record of each visit. Whether they meet your insurer's requirements depends on your policy, so share those requirements when you ask for a quote.
Who qualifies
The offer applies to properties in England with at least one paid inspection each week, over a minimum 26-week term. It is subject to suitability, equipment availability, safe installation and mobile coverage. Private owners and businesses can both apply. The full conditions are in the offer terms.
